It’s Slay Season! How To Look Your Best Over The Holiday Season

The holiday season is here! It can be the most wonderful time of the year, but it can also be stressful and exhausting if it isn’t handled properly. This can leave just about anybody feeling burnt out and not like their best selves in a short space of time.

Find Ways To Minimize Your Stress

Buying presents, visiting family, and getting all of your work done before celebrations start can all lead to stress over the festive period. For some, it’s the busiest time of the year, and the most expensive. Finding ways to reduce your stress levels will help you to feel clear headed. Try taking deep belly breaths when you’re feeling out of sorts, and consider doing a little yoga or meditation to help you feel even better. Exercising is a fantastic way to minimize stress if you can carve out time for it.  

Prioritize Your Sleep

With all of the Christmas parties and things to sort out, many people run on very little sleep over the festive period. Make sure yours is still a priority to you. Know how much sleep you need each night and do your best to stick to a routine. You may not be able to do this every night, but on days that you can’t, be kind to yourself and understand that you won’t feel as great or be as productive. Do not beat yourself up!

Make Smart Food Choices

Making smart food choices doesn’t mean you need to say no to a hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows or a minced pie. It simply means making sure you’re still giving your body what it needs to function well. Make sure you’re still eating a ton of fruit and veg, and that you’re getting as many vitamins and minerals into your diet as you can. The food we put into our bodies plays a huge part in how we look and feel. The odd indulgence over Christmas won’t make much of a difference if you take care of yourself the rest of the time. It doesn’t have to be a 24/7 binge fest!

Ensure Self Care Is A Priority

Make sure that while you’re taking care of everybody else and ensuring they are having a blast, you’re looking after yourself, too. Self care should always be a priority, so do things that will make you feel good. Why not book in for a massage or even a coolsculpting treatment so you can feel amazing for that special event? If you can’t treat yourself at this time of year, when can you?

 

Don’t forget, self care also means being able to say ‘no’ when you don’t want to do something. Don’t feel under pressure!

 

Wear Clothes That Make You Feel Like Your Best Self

Wear what you like, but whatever you wear make sure you feel like your best self. Don’t squeeze into something tight if it doesn’t make you feel good, or if you’re worried a big dinner will make you uncomfortable in it.
