It’s All About Summertime Chi! Here is a List of Events Happening Around Chicago This Summer

There is NOTHING like Chicago in the summer time ya’ll! The weather is perfect and there are plenty of things to do around the city to keep your entertained and your belly full. With festival season about to be in full swing, here is a list events that you can check out in Chicago this summer!

Hyde Park Brew Fest June 2-3

I had the pleasure of being on social media duty for this last year and man was it a good time!

This festival is unlike any festival you’ve been to. Part beer fest, street fest and food fest, we bring you the best in great food, beers, ciders, hip hop and House music DJ’s in the country. It’s an unforgettable weekend you don’t want to miss.

The event goes from 12p – 9p on Saturday and Sunday and is FREE to attend. If you’d like to sample beer and cider from over 50 different brews, you will need to PURCHASE TICKETS. The sampling goes from 1 pm – 7 pm Saturday and Sunday!

Spring Awakening June 8-10

There are a ton of summer music festivals in Chicago, but when it comes to electronic music festivals, Spring Awakening is the reigning champ.

The 2018 Spring Awakening lineup includes headlining acts like Deadmau5, Steve Aoki, Big Gigantic, Tiësto and Kaskade. The festival will also feature branded stages curated by underground EDM purveyors Sunday School, Oliver Helden’s Heldeep Records label and industry publication DJ Mag.  

Pride Festival June 16-17

Chicago Pride Fest®, June 16-17, 2018, is an exciting two-day street festival held the weekend leading up to the Chicago Pride Parade with up to 100,000 expected to attend, celebrating LGBTQ life, culture and community.

The festival features live music by popular artists, 3 stages, food and drink, 100+ arts/craft and merchant vendors, DJ’s and dancing, drag shows, pet parade, sponsor booths and more.

Mamby On The Beach June 23-24

The 2018 installment of the Mamby On The Beach music festival will be held on the coastline of Oakwood Beach in Chicago’s Bronzeville neighborhood June 23 – 24. Organizers of the two-day event have announced the lineup for Mamby Beach’s fourth annual installment.

Common, Spoon, Grizzly Bear, Russ, Cold War Kids, Tune-Yards and St. Lucia are atop the bill for the June festival. Gorgon City, Oh Wonder, Duke Dumont, AJR and Roy Wood$ are among the other acts confirmed for Mamby On The Beach ’18. Click here to purchase tickets.

The Taste of Chicago July 11-July 15

Taste of Chicago is the nation’s premier outdoor food festival showcasing the diversity of Chicago’s dining community. The delicious array of food served at Taste of Chicago is complemented by music and exciting activities for the entire family.

Every summer since 1980, Chicago’s beautiful Grant Park on the city’s magnificent lakefront has been home to the world’s largest food festival.

V103’s Summer Block Party July 14-15

If you love R&B, then this is the perfect show for you: the V103 Summer Block Party at Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island! This event is the biggest R&B and Throwback event in the city. Click here to see the full two day lineup and to purchase your tickets.



Pitchfork Music Festival July 20-22

Pitchfork is happy to reveal the full lineup for the 2018 Pitchfork Music Festival, which takes place at Chicago’s Union Park from July 20 to July 22. Headlining on Friday are Tame Impala. The Saturday headliners are Fleet Foxes. And on Sunday, Ms. Lauryn Hill closes the festival with a 20th anniversary performance of The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. Other new additions to the Pitchfork 2018 lineup include Blood Orange, Japanese Breakfast, Nilüfer Yanya, and Circuit des Yeux. Click here for the full lineup.

Silver Room Block Park July 21

The signature Silver Room art, music, culture and community experience has reserved Saturday, July 21 , 2018, 11 AM – 10 PM in Harper Court, 53rd Harper Avenue and adjacent areas for their diversity of sights and sounds, entitled ‘Beautiful People’.

Upwards of 35,000 cultural aficionados, scanning local and national communities, will enjoy a buffet of offerings, including: 4 sound stages; over 130 artists, 11 satellite locations and 75 vendors. (Note: Artist line-ups will be unveiled in coming weeks.)

WGCI’s Summer Jam July 26

Chicago’s award-winning R&B and hip-hop radio station, WGCI, takes over the city’s United Center for one night a year with its annual Summer Jam, featuring many giants of the genre collected on one stage.

Acts like Young Jeezy, Rick Ross, and R. Kelly have all performed at this annual show, and you can be on hand to see performances from the full 2018 lineup with WGCI Summer Jam tickets. In addition to watching multi-Platinum artists rock the stage, you’ll also get a chance to see up-and-coming local stars at this massive arena concert.

Lollapalooza August 2-5

Lollapalooza will return to Chicago’s Grant Park this year from August 2-5. The lineup for the 2018 event has been announced, with headliners The Weeknd, Bruno Mars, Jack White and Arctic Monkeys. Other artists include Travis Scott, The National, Vampire Weekend and Odesza. Tickets are on sale now.
