Whatever your idea was for your blog when you first set it up, we know that there’s more you can do with it. Blogging is just such a wonderful thing to get into no matter what your intentions.
There are so many pros to it, and the people that you can meet along the way as long as you immerse yourself into it will be amazing. But, we know that some of you will start a blog to just keep it personal. To have it as a space where you can write down all of your thoughts and feelings, and you won’t be too bothered about who is reading it at the other end.
This is absolutely fine if you want it to be nothing more than a space where you can have your own little journal. But, that shouldn’t stop you being curious as to how you could make your blog go further. Because later on down the line, you just don’t know what the future holds for your blog or your life.
So, whether you’re dead set on making your blog go further now, or whether you’re just curious to the possibility of it happening later on down the line, here’s how we think you can do it.
Be Very Active on Social Media
The first thing that you really need to try and do, is make sure that your blog and you are highly active on social media, and even some of the blogging platforms. So, the main ones that you need to try and focus on are Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest.
You should also put yourself on Bloglovin and make sure all of your posts go through there, and that you’re following bloggers through that platform. First of all, we want to talk about Twitter and why that can have such a big influence on your blog. It’s where all of the bloggers are at.
New, old, wanting to get somewhere, or just interested in other bloggers, it’s where everyone seems to go. It’s where you can make a name for yourself, and it’s where you can interact with the most amount of people. All you need to do is create one separate to your personal profile, or merge the two.
Follow bloggers who you are genuinely interested in, as well as accounts that will retweet your post. If you show your interest in blogging and following other bloggers, you will soon see them putting the @’s in their post, so it’s pretty easy to find all of these blogging groups.
Post on there every single day. Thoughts, feelings, comments on other people’s blog posts etc. But most importantly, share every single blog post you ever write. Find these blogger groups and retweet groups and make sure you tag them in the Twitter post where you’re sharing your blog post.
They should retweet them, and you should be able to get more exposure. You also need to make sure that you’re using Instagram to its full potential. Again, follow plenty of bloggers, but use hashtags to draw people’s attention to the post.
Finally, focus on the image of your Instagram page, and make sure that you stay consistent with the style of posts that you’re doing. For example, home bloggers like to stick to the grey and white interior design theme, but in different ways.
Make It Instagrammable
We’ve talked about how your Instagram should be, but what about your blog? Your blog posts are going to play a big part in how Instagrammable your blog actually is. So, for example, you should make sure that the pictures that you’re taking for your actual blog posts, are worthy of going on Instagram.
The exact ones don’t have to, but it is a very good idea to make sure that you’re connecting the two each time that you post. So, to make sure that you’re getting that quality, you’re going to need to put a lot of time and effort into the photos that you capture.
The best way of doing this is to get a camera. You can’t beat the quality of a professional camera, and the pictures that you’ll be able to use for your blog will be perfect for your Instagram. It’s then all about making sure you actually get a good shot.
Surely if we’re talking about moving your blog forward, you need to think about brand connections and how they can monetize your blog. Even if you’re not going in search of money, you should definitely be thinking about brand connections to ensure that you’re giving your blog quality content that’s fresh and collaborated.
Sometimes the juice can run dry with your own content, so it’s nice to have that helping hand. There are companies out there who will do it for you, and will allow your posts to become shoppable at the same time. So, think about the fashion posts that you might like to do.
So many people will be desperate to know where you got the outfit from. All you have to do is join a company that helps connect brands and influencers with consumers, by allowing your content to become shoppable. You can view here just how to do that, and reap the benefits for your blog.
If you want to go for something that will allow you to get paid, then the best thing you can do is start doing reviews of brands and tag them in the post. Eventually they might reach out to you to to a collaboration. If you’re struggling, don’t be afraid to reach out to a brand you’re interested in to see if they will do a collaboration with you!
The last thing that we want to talk about is consistency, because we believe that a good blog should have just that. If you want to build up a solid following, they’ll be expecting content from you each week, and keeping to that is the only that you’re going to be able to keep them interested.
So, post twice a week, no more than four, and you will keep that level of consistency that you need!
